Cybersecurity readiness for U.S. organizations

A clearer path to cybersecurity readiness.

GrayShield helps small businesses and defense contractors understand their security gaps, agree on practical priorities, and coordinate the work that follows.

Services

One relationship across the work.

Practical guidance for teams that need a clearer security path without hiring a full-time cybersecurity team.

01

Readiness assessment

Review scope, requirements, and evidence references against applicable NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC expectations. Unknowns stay clearly marked.

02

Findings & action plan

Turn review notes into prioritized findings and practical remediation recommendations. AI can assist with a draft; a person reviews it before it is shared.

03

Remediation coordination

GrayShield coordinates qualified independent specialists for work you approve, tracks agreed actions, and follows up on evidence references.

04

Ongoing readiness support

Keep documentation and open actions moving with periodic reviews and a clearer record of what changed, what remains, and what comes next.

How we work

Clear steps. Shared decisions.

GrayShield serves as your coordinating partner: recommendations are discussed with you, and specialist work starts only after you approve the scope.

  1. 01

    Scope the work

Agree on the organization, systems, requirements, and decision makers in scope.

  2. 02

    Review what exists

Look at current practices and evidence references; mark gaps and unverified items plainly.

  3. 03

    Set priorities together

Review findings, sequence practical fixes, and approve any specialist work before it begins.

  4. 04

    Track the follow-through

Record agreed actions and keep readiness documentation current as work progresses.

Important boundaries

Readiness can clarify the work. It cannot certify the outcome.

Separate from formal assessment

GrayShield provides readiness consulting, not an independent CMMC assessment or certification. Any readiness status or preliminary score is not an official result.

Protect sensitive information

Do not send Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), passwords, or credentials with an initial inquiry. Evidence can be discussed by reference without uploading files here.

CUI needs the right environment

CUI is handled only after the required cloud environment, Microsoft 365 licensing, security configuration, and contractual obligations are in place. Ordinary Microsoft 365 licensing alone is not enough.

Where configured for an engagement, a controlled Microsoft 365 client portal supports ongoing documentation and action tracking.

Start with a conversation

Bring the scope. We’ll help map the next step.

Tell us what kind of organization you are, which requirements or systems are in scope, and what you are trying to resolve. Keep the first message non-sensitive.

No CUI, passwords, or credentials by email.
